The Emotional Journey of Organizational Change: Model & Self-Assessment Tool

This interactive tool helps you understand where you fall on the emotional change curve during organizational transitions. Based on the Kübler-Ross grief model adapted to workplace contexts, it visualizes the six typical phases people experience during change:
  1. Denial: Initial disbelief and resistance to change
  2. Frustration: Anger and emotional resistance
  3. Depression: Low energy and disengagement
  4. Experiment: Cautious exploration of new approaches
  5. Decision: Commitment to the new path
  6. Integration: Renewal and performance growth

How to Use This Tool:
  1. Review the Diagram: Examine the visual model showing the typical emotional journey through change. Drag the text boxes and descriptions to reposition them for better viewing if needed.
  2. Take the Assessment: Answer the 18 randomized questions about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors regarding a specific change you're experiencing. Rate each statement from "Strongly Agree" to "Strongly Disagree."
  3. Explore Your Results: After submitting, you'll see:
    • Your position on the change curve
    • A score breakdown showing your current emotional responses
    • Personalized recommendations based on your dominant phase

This tool provides awareness of your emotional response to change, normalizes the experience, and offers practical next steps to help you navigate your transition more effectively.
